CHARLOTTE, N.C. –  What sport, included in the Olympics,  that almost anyone can compete in,  is played on a “sheet” and uses “rocks” and “brooms” dates back as early as 1511?  Curling.  Yep, and Wilson is with members of the Charlotte Curling Association to find out more about the sport and how it is played.  Wilson even hit the ice to try his hand at the sport.  Not too shabby there, Wilson.

The Charlotte Curling Association was founded in 2010.  It is a non-profit organization dedicated to the sport of curling and helping it to flourish in the Charlotte area.  Members range in age from 6 to 80 with anywhere from no curling experience to seasoned veterans.

The CCA has just opened their dedicated curling facility located at 6525 Old Statesville Road in Charlotte.  At the facility they offer classes for the younger curler as well as curling enthusiasts who have various mental and physical disabilities.  Not only is curling recognized as an offical sport in the Olympics but it is also an official sport of the Paralympic Games.
