CHARLOTTE, N.C. – If you still need to pick up your Christmas tree, Wilson is hoping you will head up to one of the Hometown Heroes Christmas Tree lots to get it.  Volunteers from the sheriff and police departments from Mecklenburg and Union counties showed up early at the Mallard Creek lot today to hang with Wilson where he entertained everyone.   Mecklenburg County’s new Sheriff Irwin Carmichael also stopped by to lend a hand.

The Hometown Heroes Christmas tree lot is all about the kids.  Helping children who suffer with terminal illnesses or debilitating injuries and their families get through the rough roads they have to follow throughout their journey is the mission for Hometown Heroes.  “Big Kids Helping Little Kids” is not just a motto for these volunteers.

There are 3 Hometown Heroes Christmas Tree lots located in the area, two in Monore and one in the University area.  Hours vary for locations, so be sure to check out their website HERE.  All of the trees are grown in North Carolina, cut fresh and brought to the lot.

Even if you already have your tree, stop by the lot, say hi and make a donation to Hometown Heroes and help the big kids help the little kids.
