CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wilson was at Myers Park High School this morning where he found teenagers writing letters to Santa…and not just to practice their penmanship. The Santa letter writing campaign by these great kids is all a part of their push to help the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Central & Western North Carolina.
Wilson was peeking over their shoulders to find out just what the kids were writing to Santa…and gave them a hard time about it. But Wilson knows…if you dish it out, you better be able to take it!
This group of students at Myers Park wanted to continue to help other kids through Make-a-Wish all year long, so they went through all of the rules and regulations to create a Make-a-Wish club at Myers Park. The club’s goal is to raise money for the foundation and to help grant the wishes of other children who are suffering from life threatening illnesses.
Currently the students are participating with Macy’s BelieveI campaign by writing their letters to Santa. For each letter that is written to Santa and dropped off at a Santa Mailbox in a Macy’s store Macy’s will donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
You can also help from the comfort of your home. Just go to Macy’s Believe! website HERE and write your letter to Santa and deliver it online.
The Make-a-Wish Foundation of Central & Western North Carolina covers 51 counties from Burlington to the western part of the state. Since its inception in 1985 they have granted over 3,000 wishes and has never turned down an eligible wish.
