CHARLOTTE,  N.C. –   For twenty-one years, the McCrorey YMCA of Greater Charlotte has held their annual Martin Luther King Holiday Prayer Breakfast to honor the late civil rights leader.  Wilson was at the Convention Center in Uptown Charlotte where the prayer breakfast will begin at 8am.

Benjamin Jealous, civil and human rights leader, Rhodes Scholar and former NAACP President will be the guest speaker for the breakfast.  Wilson had the opportunity to talk with Mr. Jealous before the breakfast.  While talking with Wilson he spoke about how there is one thing that everyone can do in their community and how each person can find their one thing.

Riley Fields of the Carolina Panthers stopped by to talk with Wilson about Thomas Davis being a finalist for the highly coveted NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.  This is the 2nd year in a row that Thomas has been a finalist.  The winner of the award will be announced the Saturday night before the Super Bowl.

Mayor Dan Clodfelter also took a few minutes before the event began to talk about the prayer breakfast and all of the events that have been going on in Charlotte to celebrate Dr. King and the holiday.

The MLK Holiday Prayer Breakfast was established by the H.L. McCrorey Family YMCA.  Proceeds from the breakfast provide programs for children and teens at the McCrorey YMCA.
