CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police made an arrest in a north Charlotte armed robbery case. Investigators say Michael Mitchell robbed a Zaxby’s on West Sugar Creek Road Tuesday morning.
An employee at the restaurant said the suspect was armed with a knife and left the scene in a vehicle. Police located the vehicle a short time later in a parking lot near Harris Boulevard and Statesville Road.
Mitchell and another man were taken into custody. However, police determined the driver was not involved in the robbery. He was issued a citation for not having an operator’s license.
Mitchell was taken to a local hospital after experiencing minor medical issues. Once he was treated at the hospital police interviewed him and charged him with armed robbery.
