Two Arrested For Methamphetamine Following Anonymous Tip

LENOIR, N.C. — Authorities in Lenoir say an anonymous tip led to two arrests involving methamphetamine.

Carol Jean Dunn and Dustin Ryan Bumgarner were arrested seperately and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine among other charges.

Police say they received information regarding a possible drug deal in the parking lot of the Holiday Superette located in Lenoir. The responding officers used the vehicle descriptions to identify and locate both vehicles.

Dunn was stopped and found with 2 grams of methamphetamine, 2 Oxycodone pills, .4 grams of marijuana, and $1496.00 in cash. She was arrested and charged with Possession Of Methamphetamine, Maintaining a Vehicle for Controlled Substance, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Simple Possession Of Marijuana, and Driving While Impaired. Dunn received a $50,000 secured bond.

Bumgarner was stopped at another shopping center and a search of his vehicle revealed .3 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a 9 millimeter handgun. He was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Maintaining a Vehicle for Controlled Substance, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  He was also served an outstanding warrrant for parole violation. Bumgarner received a $101,000 secured bond.
