YORK COUNTY, S.C. — Deputies say two men are in custody for fighting dogs at a home in York County. Investigators say a deputy responded to a call on Lincoln Forest Road in reference to a car on cinder blocks blocking the road way.
While investigating, the deputy heard something unusual behind a house in the area. The deputy walked around the home and saw what appeared to be a dog fight in progress. Five pit bull dogs were taken by Animal Control.
A veterinarian determined one of dogs had injuries from the fight as well as previous injuries from fighting in the past. Deputies have two men in custody for suspicion of dog fighting. One man ran from the scene and police are searching for him.
A woman was also charged with giving false information to police. No other information has been released at this time.
