Two In Custody After Deputy Witnesses Dog Fight In York County

YORK COUNTY, S.C. — Deputies say two men are in custody for fighting dogs at a home in York County. Β Investigators say a deputy responded to a call on Lincoln Forest Road in reference to a car on cinder blocks blocking the road way. Β 

While investigating, the deputy heard something unusual behind a house in the area. Β The deputy walked around the home and saw what appeared to be a dog fight in progress. Β Five pit bull dogs were taken by Animal Control. Β 

A veterinarian determined one of dogs had injuries from the fight as well as previous injuries from fighting in the past. Β Deputies have two men in custody for suspicion of dog fighting. Β One man ran from the scene and police are searching for him.

A woman was also charged with giving false information to police. Β No other information has been released at this time.
