CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A little over a month ago Wilson visited the Charlotte Curling Association facility where he found out just what the sport of curling is all about. Today he is giving us a preview of the 2015 World Curling Federation’s Olympic Celebration Tour this weekend that brings Olympic curlers to Charlotte.
2006 Olympic Gold Medalist Jamie Koreb is one of the 3 guests instructors who will be at the event this weekend. Wilson met up with Jamie this morning talking about the sport of curling and to get a few tips on how to curl at an Olympic level. Jamie also talked about what it was like to participate in the Olympics and stand on the winners podium.
After Jamie got a hard time about his medal and about his attire, he was still nice enough to give Wilson some tips on how to curl on an Olympic level. Well, as high a level as Wilson can get. And of course, Wilson had to give himself a medal.
This year’s 2015 World Curling Federation’s Olympic Celebration Tour is the first in the Charlotte area. The schedule of events includes a media open house, a meet and greet with the instructors and training sessions and games for curlers to participate in.

The Charlotte Curling Association was founded in 2010. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to the sport of curling and helping it to flourish in the Charlotte area. Members range in age from 6 to 80 with anywere from no curling experience to seasoned vetereans. Not only is curling recognized as an offical sport in the Olympics but it is also an official sport of the Paralympic Games.
