CHARLOTTE, N.C. – When the fire alarm goes off at CFD Station 26 goes off, the guys hit the trucks to help the residents of Charlotte.  But this weekend, they will be helping one of their own.  Wilson was at the station this morning to find out more about this weekend’s event.

When firefighter Jeff McGill began his fight with cancer, his fellow firefighters were there to help him fight.  This Saturday, January 31st the guys at Station 26 will be have a big BBQ to help raise funds to help Jeff win this battle.

Wilson talked with Firefighter McGill about his diagnosis, his fight, where he gets his strength and his help from his brotherhood of firefighters.

The smoker will be fired up early and bbq will be ready beginning at 11am on Saturday.  Charlotte Fire Department’s Pink Lady will be there as well as their mascot Blaze. Station 26 is located at 9231 South Tryon Street.   Find out more on CFD’s Facebook page HERE.
