Union Co. School Board Member Resigns

MONROE, NC– A Union County School Board member accused of double dipping on travel expenses has resigned.

The School Board Chair announced Marce Savages Resignation at a meeting Wednesday night but did not give specifics.

Savage Served on both the Union County and state school boards.

In November, she was accused of claiming travel expenses from both boards for attending the same events.

At the time she said she didn’t realize the mistake and walked out of the meeting that had been called to look into the claims.
