CHARLOTTE, N.C. — WCCB’s team coverage on the winter storm that hit much of North Carolina starts with flight cancellations, power outages and road conditions.  

Charlotte-Douglas International Airport is seeing dozens of delays and cancellations due to the winter storm that hit the eastern and northeastern part of the country.  Be sure to check with you airlines before you head to the airport.

Road conditions are treacherous in the Charlotte area.  WCCB’s Jon Wilson has updates on road conditions in Matthews, WCCB’s Marvin Beach is talking about road conditions in Uptown and WCCB’s Greg Armbrecht gives updates from Boone.  

Troopers warn people to stay off roads unless you absolutely have to travel.  Black ice is a major threat for the next few days with temperatures staying near freezing.
