American Airlines Suspending All Charlotte Flights Wednesday Night

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — American Airlines will be suspending departures out of Charlotte Douglas International Airport after 9 p.m. tonight in preparation for winter weather that is expected to hit the region. Our operations normally cease by about 11 p.m. at CLT.

American Airlines plans on resuming departures Thursday around noon, with smaller regional aircraft resuming service a little later in the day. There will be a handful of arrivals during that time.

The majority of American Airlines daily flights will been completed for the operating day by 9 p.m. tonight. The total number of cancellations for tonight and tomorrow is a little more than 200 flights at this time.

American Airlines is notifying customers of the cancellations and strongly encourage customers who have travel scheduled tonight or tomorrow or those who are picking up or dropping off a friend or a loved one for a flight to check their flight status at aa.com.
