CHARLOTTE, N.C., Feb. 25, 2014 — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, February 26. Forecasters are predicting a severe winter storm with freezing rain and significant snow accumulation for our area. Therefore, with the safety of staff and students in mind, there will be no school for CMS students tomorrow and all CMS schools and offices will be closed. All school-based and athletic activities are canceled. The scheduled community engagement meeting at Hopewell High School is also cancelled. No student make-up day will be needed.
We will continue to monitor the weather and road conditions to help inform decisions about school schedules for Friday, Feb. 27. We will communicate any information as soon as decisions are made.
