France leads Nordic combined team sprint after ski jump

FALUN, Sweden (AP) — France led after the ski jump portion of the Nordic combined team sprint event Saturday at the Nordic skiing world championships.

Francois Braud and Jason Lamy Chappuis earned a total of 227.1 points from their jumps on the large hill and will start 11 seconds ahead of Japan in the deciding cross-country sprint relay. Germany was third and will start 21 seconds behind in the relay race, where the two skiers on each team both complete five laps around a 1.5-kilometer course.

Norway was fourth with 44 seconds to make up.

The cross-country race was set to start at 1400 GMT.
