Β CHARLOTTE, N.C.– One person has died after a collision on 7600 Statesville Road Saturday morning.
Officials say thatΒ Charles Edward Bass IIΒ was driving a rentedΒ 2013 Mazda 3 when he drove left of center and hit a 2004 Ford van head on. Bass was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained during the crash.
Police say that the driver of the van,Β Juvencio Martinez,Β has been transported to Carolinas Medical Center with only minor injuries Β
Alcohol useΒ is suspected.
