UNDATED (AP) — There should be several stories today about free agency in the NFL. The annual free agency period starts today with several teams sporting a lot of cash to spread around. Among the top names available this year are Ndamukong Suh (ehn-DAHM’-uh-kehn soo), Devin McCourty, Julius Thomas, Byron Maxwell and DeMarco Murray.

UNDATED (AP) — There are two excellent matchups on ice this evening as the top teams in the Metropolitan and Atlantic Divisions face off. The Metropolitan game has the Islanders, in first place by three points, entertaining the second-place Rangers, while in the Atlantic Division the No. 1 Montreal Canadiens are in Tampa to face the second-place Lightning, who are two points behind.

UNDATED (AP) — The NBA has two 50-win teams now. Both the Warriors and Hawks won last night and those victories gave Golden State a record of 50-12 and Atlanta 50-13. In the Western Conference the Warriors top Memphis by 5 ½ games while in the East the Hawks top Cleveland by 11.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — In the lone Top-25 game last night seventh-ranked Gonzaga (gahn-ZAG’-uh) advanced to the West Coast Conference final with a 79-61 win over Pepperdine in a semifinal game. The Bulldogs have now reached the conference title game in 18 straight seasons.

UNDATED (AP) — As expected, Kentucky tops the newest Associated Press Top-25 men’s basketball poll. The Wildcats received all 65 first-place votes in yesterday’s poll with Duke second, Virginia third, Villanova fourth and Arizona fifth.
