CANCUN, Mexico (AP) — A Mexican judge has sentenced a onetime American reality television producer to 12 years in prison for the murder of his wife during a 2010 Cancun beach vacation.
Quintana Roo state prosecutor Gaspar Armando Garcia Torres says Judge Víctor Manuel Echeverria Tun convicted and sentenced Bruce Beresford-Redman on Thursday in Cancun for the murder of his wife, Monica Burgos Beresford-Redman.
Beresford-Redman, the onetime “Survivor” producer, was on vacation in Cancun with his wife and their two children in 2010 when Monica Burgos Beresford-Redman was killed. Her body was found in a sewer cistern at the resort.
The producer was extradited to Mexico in 2012 to stand trial.
