CHARLOTTE, NC — Gunman are still on the run after shooting into a Northwest Charlotte home with seven people inside, including four children and their pregnant mother.

“Now I’m scared for my kids because that could have hit anyone of us,” said the mother.

She asked WCCB Charlotte to hide her identity in fear of the shooters.

They hit the home where her family lives with her mother and 72-year-old grandfather
just before 2:00 Friday morning.

“Nobody in their right mind should be doing anything like this in this house,” said the mother.

When the bullets came through the window, they flew 15 feet across the dining room, through the wall and another five feet through the living room.

Any higher, and they would have been in the grandmother’s room.

“I would have never thought of that happening here,” said the grandmother.

It’s the third drive-by shooting in a three mile radius around Beatties Ford Road in less than four months.

A home in the same neighborhood was shot at in November. No one was injured.

In December, Keith Phifer told WCCB Charlotte it took just 10 seconds for shooters to spray his home in a neighborhood across the street with 63 bullets.

“I was traumatized by the whole experience,” said Phifer.

At this point in the investigation, police don’t think the three drive-bys are related.

They are following up on suspect leads in the latest case.

“Whoever is out there doing stuff like that needs to stop because there’s kids in here, and it’s not safe,” said the mother.

If you know anything about the shootings, call police.
