Center J.D. Walton signs 1-year deal with Dolphins

MIAMI (AP) — Center J.D. Walton has signed a one-year contract with the Miami Dolphins, who were eager to shore up their offensive line.

Walton started all 16 games for the Giants last year and has 52 career starts since being drafted by the Broncos in 2010. He missed all of the 2013 season with an ankle injury.

The deal announced Thursday means center Samson Satele, a free agent, will likely not be re-signed after starting all 16 games for Miami last year.

Walton was one of three free agents to visit the Dolphins on Thursday. The others were quarterback Tarvaris Jackson and receiver Michael Crabtree.
