
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Big Bottles & Blues, formerly known as Kick Off, is returning to Charlotte May 9th at Founders Hall. Β The event helps raise money for local children’s charities.

This wine tasting event will include over 100 great wines to try, an impressive lineup of auction items and ticket levels for every age group. Β
Attendees have the chance to bid on items during live and silent auctions featuring rare large format bottles of wine, along with trips, jewelry and wine dinners. Β
The silent auction will be conducted using mobile bidding on attendees’ mobile devices. Β Some of the auction items include: a Kiawah Island golf package, a getaway to Palmetto Bluff, tickets to the Bank of America 500 NASCAR race, a Chairman’s Lot comprised of favorite bottles of wine and past Charlotte Wine and Food Chairmen and signed Panthers’ gear.
Some of the featured wineries include: Krupp Brothers, Darioush, Silver Oak, Emmolo and DoubleBack, owned by former NFL quarterback Drew Bledsoe, and many more.
Five Charlotte area charities have been selected as the beneficiaries of Charlotte Wine and Food Weekend: Charlotte Concerts, Council for Children’s Rights, Pat’s Place Child Advocacy Center, Safe Alliance and Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.

Icons of Italy Dinner: A VIP ticket package that includes an intimate dinner at Aria Tuscan Grill before Big Bottles & Blues begins. Β Aria has specially prepared a multi-course dinner paired with wines from three cult Italian vintners. Β Admission to Big Bottles & Blues is included in the ticket price. $250
Wine Lover’s Admission: Standard admission to Big Bottles & Blues. $125
Young Aficionado’s Admission: Standard admission from the under 35-wine lovers and includes tutorials to guide them in discovering their wine palette. $75
