ASHEVILLE, NC –   Wilson traveled to scenic Asheville where he visited Biltmore Estates to tour their current “Dressing Downton” exhibit as well the estate, grounds, conservatory and winery

Ranging from servants uniforms to lavish evening gowns the “Dressing Downton Changing Fashion for Changing Times”  exhibit contains over 45 costumes from the popular PBS drama Downton Abbey.   Displayed in throughout the house in various rooms and settings, the award winning costumes reflect how world events influenced fashions of the day.

George Vanderbilt began construction on his country home in 1889.  The 250 room estate is America’s largest house and has been home to generations of Vanderbilts.  The self guided house visit takes you through 3 floors and the basement.

After viewing the Downton Abbey exhibit and walking through the house, Wilson went outside to take a carriage ride and tour the gardens, consevatory and winery.   Biltmore’s winery is the most visited winery in the United States.

Spring is a wonderful time to visit Biltmore, walk through their gardens and enjoy a crisp glass of wine.  For more information on everything you should see at  Biltmore Estate as well as the “Dressing Downton” exhibit visit their website at biltmore.com.

The “Dressing Downton” exhibit continues at Biltmore through May 25th.
