Fatal Fire On Harpley Court

UPDATE: The man accused of assault and setting fire to the home has died from injuries. He was identified as Halim Stovall, 39, and the female was identified as Tamika McClelland, 39.

UPDATE: Investigators are saying the initial findings show that the female was home with her 21 and 8 year old daughters when the man kicked in the door, assaulted the mother, and  then set fire to the home. The daughters fled the home and called 911.

Officials say the man and woman were in a relationship and that this was not a random act of violence.

UPDATE: CMPD says that a domestic disturbance call was made by a 21 year old female at the residence, and that upon arrival the house was engulfed in flames.

Four people were in the home. The 21yr old and an 8yr old girl made it out, but an older female was pronounced dead and an older male was airlifted to CMC with life threatening injuries.

Investigators are now working the scene and say arson has not been ruled out as possible cause.
