UPDATE: 1 Dead After Shooting In Concord

CONCORD, NC — One person is dead after an altercation between two drivers led to a shooting.

Just before 10pm Thursday night, Concord Police responded to a shooting call near a residential area off South Union St.

After investigation police say Ryan Lee Cochran, 23, and his girlfriend where traveling on Concord Salisbury Road when a vehicle began following them.

After the vehicle followed the couple several miles into a neighborhood, Cochran reportedly stopped near the intersection of Plott Drive and Charing Lane where an altercation led to David Robert Pittarelli being shot.

Pittarelli was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say there is no evidence that the two drivers knew each other.

Police are still working to locate the victim’s family, and are currently interviewing the other party involved to get more details.
