
UPDATE: Police have released a description of the suspect:
Black male, around 15-18 years old, thin build, around 5β9β, 150 lbs. with a short haircut, and he was last seen wearing a greyish-orange hooded sweatshirt with jeans and a white backpack.
CHARLOTTE, NC — Police in the University Area are searching for a suspect this morning who shot at a CMPD officer’s patrol car.
Around 1:00am an officer was responding to a call about an armed man in the area of the 700 block of Minglewood Drive near Phillip’s Mallard Creek Apartments when a person fired at the officer. Police say the officer was not hit and did not return fire at the suspect.
The investigation is still ongoing, and K-9 units are searching the area.
