CLEVELAND (AP) β€” The Cleveland Cavaliers have the home-court advantage as the NBA Finals shifts east for the next two games, starting with tonight’s Game 3 against Golden State. The teams have split two overtime games, the first time in NBA history that overtime was needed to decide the first two games of finals.

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) β€” Carson Palmer is back from a season-ending torn ACL suffered in a game last November. The quarterback took snaps and made throws in 11-on-11 drills on the first day of the Arizona Cardinals’ three-day minicamp.

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) β€” Muhammad Wilkerson is back with his teammates, even though he’s not happy about his contract situation. The New York Jets defensive end reported for the team’s mandatory minicamp despite still looking for a long-term extension that he expected to be taken care of by now.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) β€” Seattle Seahawks All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman said he was happy to avoid surgery on his injured elbow in the offseason since the procedure likely would have left him sidelined for up to nine months. Sherman initially believed he would need Tommy John surgery on his left elbow after being injured in the NFC Championship game. Surgery is on the back burner for now.

ATLANTA (AP) β€” The Atlanta Braves have purchased the contract of veteran right-hander David Aardsma (ARHDZ’-mah), marking his return to the majors for the first time since 2013 when he was 2-2 with a 4.31 ERA in 43 games. Aardsma will be the 17th pitcher used out of the Braves bullpen this season.
