HOUSTON (AP) β All-Star second baseman Jose Altuve has been injured in the first inning of the Houston Astros’ game against the Seattle Mariners.
The Astros led 8-0 in the first when Altuve came up to bat for the second time in the inning Friday night. He pulled up after trying to beat the throw to first on a grounder and hobbled to the dugout. There was no immediate word on his injury, but it appeared to be a leg or foot injury.
Altuve grimaced as he untucked his jersey and walked toward the clubhouse before being replaced by Marwin Gonzalez in the second inning.
