Morganton Woman Arrested In Connection With Man Accused Of Killing His Grandmother

LINCOLNTON, N.C. — Authorities have arrested a second person in the case of a Lincoln County man who killed his grandmother.

Amber Dawn Harris, 28, of Morganton was arrested Monday and charged with Accessory After the Fact of a Felony. She is accused of helping Chadwick Allen Bean attempt to avoid detection, arrest, and punishment by telling him that she would be his alibi, and burning the clothes he wore during the murder in a wood stove.

Lucille Miller Punch, 77, was found dead and with multiple stab wounds on February 22, 2015. Chadwick Allen Bean was arrested on June 11, 2015 and charged with First Degree Murder.

Amber Dawn Harris was placed in the Lincoln County Detention Center under a $30,000 secured bond.
