MINNEAPOLIS (AP) β€” The Minnesota Timberwolves have acquired hometown kid Tyus Jones from the Cleveland Cavaliers for two second-round draft picks this year and another one in 2019. The Cavaliers chose Jones, the Duke point guard, with the 24th overall selection. But they shipped the Apple Valley, Minnesota, native to the Wolves for pick Nos. 31 and 36 and the 2019 second-rounder.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) β€” The Charlotte Hornets have selected swingman Juan Vaulet from Argentina with the 39th overall pick in the NBA draft. The 6-foot-6, 200-pound Vaulet is the first player to be drafted from Argentina since Carlos Delfino in 2003.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) β€” The Charlotte Hornets have selected Wisconsin power forward Frank Kaminsky with the ninth overall pick in the NBA draft. The 7-foot-1, 242-pound Kaminsky was The Associated Press Player of the Year this past season, leading the Badgers to the Final Four.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) β€” The Carolina Hurricanes have agreed to terms for a one-year deal with left wing Chris Terry. The team announced yesterday that the deal will pay the 26-year-old $875,000 next season. Terry had NHL career highs of 11 goals and 20 points in 57 games last year with Carolina.
