Two Mooresville Residents Arrested for Drug Trafficking

MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Two Mooresville Residents have been arrested after selling oxycodone and hydrocodone, two prescription pain relievers, to an undercover Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Investigator.

Ibn Thompson and Christian Carter were taken into custody after a several months long investigation of the two that began in November, 2014 after Rowan County investigators received information that Thompson was involved in opioid trafficking.

The undercover investigator purchased the pain relievers four times from Thompson since November, the last being on June, 29th, the day of the arrest. 
 
Thompson was charged with nine counts of trafficking opium/heroin, one count of conspiracy to traffic opium/heroin, one counts of sell/deliver oxycodone, and one count of possess with intent to sell/deliver/manufacture oxycodone.  Carter was charged with one count of conspiracy to traffic opium/heroin.  Thompson was placed under a $250,000 secured bond, while Carter’s bond was set at $25,000 secured.
 
The investigation is still ongoing and more arrests could be possible.
