VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — A baby shark was found in the backyard of an northern oceanfront home in Virginia, most likely falling from the grips of an airborne predator.
The 13-inch dogfish shark was found dead by Sue Bowser’s, the owner of home, grandchildren. She at first doubted her five-year-old grandson’s claim, but discovered the shark for herself.
Bowser believes the shark was killed by an osprey and dropped into her yard. βThis could be the shark house, but hopefully not too many more will be falling from the sky,β Bowser said.
Bowser has kept the shark in her freezer in order to preserve it and show it to friends and family for the next couple weeks. The shark had become the hot topic around the neighborhood.
There is no word on what will happen to the shark once Bowser’s freezer fills up.
