Starling Marte, Francisco Cervelli (sur-VEH’-lee) and Gregory Polanco hit RBI singles in the bottom of the 10th after Randal Grichuk (GRIH’-chihk) hit a two-run double to put the Cardinals ahead 5-3. The Pirates took three of four from the NL Central-leading Cards in the series to pull within 2 Β½ games first place.

LONDON (AP) β€” Novak Djokovic (JOH’-koh-vihch) is the Wimbledon men’s champion for the second straight year following a 7-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3 triumph over Roger Federer. The top-seeded Djokovic broke No. 2 Federer four times and saved six of the seven break points he faced. Djokovic has won three of the last five men’s titles at the All-England Club, and nine Grand Slam titles overall.

SILVIS, Ill. (AP) β€” Jordan Spieth (speeth) heads to the British Open with another victory under his belt as he attempts to capture his third straight major title. Spieth parred the second playoff hole to beat Tom Gillis at the John Deere Classic in Illinois. The 21-year-old Spieth birdied four of the last six holes in regulation for a 3-under 68 and a 20-under total in his fourth win of the year.

LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) β€” South Korea’s In Gee Chun is the first player to win her U.S. Open debut since Birdie Kim in 2005. The 20-year-old Chun birdied four of her last seven holes for a one-stroke victory over third-round leader Amy Yang. Chun shot a 4-under 66 in the final round and finished at 8 under after entering Sunday with a three-stroke deficit.

MILWAUKEE (AP) β€” Sebastien Bourdais (bohr-DAY’) pulled away following a late caution to win at the Milwaukee Mile, his second IndyCar victory of the season. Bourdais turned aside a brief challenge from runner-up Helio Castroneves (EH’-lee-oh kas-troh-NEH’-vehs) to win by 2.2 seconds. It was Bourdais’ 34th career victory, and first at an oval since winning at Milwaukee in 2006.
