Suspect Charged In Monroe Homicide

MONROE, NC —  Police have now charged Jadis Cole, 18, of Marshville with the July 11th shooting death of Carroll Griffin of Monroe.

Just before 1am on July 11th police responded to an assault call on the 500 block of E. Hudson Street. When they arrived they found Griffin lying beside his car with a gunshot wound, of which he later died.

A joint investigation by law enforcement from both North and South Carolina determined the shooter to be Jadis Cole.

Cole has been charged with first degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and obstruction of justice. He is being held at Union County Jail without bond as he awaits his first court appearance on August 13.
