CHARLOTTE, NC – The Simmons YMCA in east Charlotte was Wilson’s stop on day 4 of his Water Safety Week.
Wilson was enjoying his morning out at the pool at the Y with a group of lifeguards that took 1st place at the 2015 Lifeguard Challenge. These ladies talked with Wilson about why they became lifeguards and what they enjoy about helping the kids at the pool. These ladies were stoked because this was the first time an all female team had won the event.
Wilson and the lifeguards were having fun with a very serious subject when the girls hit the pool to show Wilson some of the life saving techniques used by lifeguards during an emergency by the pool. Did someone hear the theme from “Baywatch?”
The YMCA’s swimming saves lives programs goes around to 6 different apartment complexes where free of charge, kids can come out to the pool to learn water safety as well as learn how to swim.
