
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Habitual Felon Team convicted 21 defendants in the week of July 27th, 14 of whom were sent to prison.
Among the habitual felons, Tony Miller was convicted on 3 counts of trafficking in heroin by sale and sentenced to over 10 years in prison. Miller was the subject of an undercover operation where Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police purchased over 300 heroin capsules from him in November and December of 2014. Miller was arrested on December 5th after selling $1,800 worth of heroin in a single sale to CMPD officers. Some of Miller’s prior convictions include robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault on a law enforcement official with a firearm.
Other habitual felons were convicted on charges such as felony breaking and entering, possession of firearm by convicted felon, and possession of a controlled substance. Sentences ranged between 3-7 years for repeat offenders.
