CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Earlier this year Wilson visited with the kids, parents and faculty at Elon Park Elementary School before school let out for the summer, so he stopped back in today to see what they have in store for the new school year.
From their new playground for the kids to enjoy to their Learning Garden, the Step Up Mentoring program and their Eagle Dad program there is a lot going on at Elon Park. While helping with the car pool arrivals, some of the Eagle Dads talked with Wilson about their program and how much they enjoyed being a part of their child’s education.
While Wilson talked with teachers and parents about the school and their programs the kids had fun on the new playground swinging and playing gaga ball while hanging out with the Elon Park Eagle mascot.
On Friday, September 11th, Elon Park Elementary will host their Servants with a Heart event. Students, teachers and parents will all come together at the school to pack meals for kids and families in need. The event also includes the opportunity for the kids to learn more about and how poverty and hunger effects communities both locally and regionally. Find out more about the non-profit group Servants with a Heart at their website servantswithaheart.org.
