CHARLOTTE, N.C. –  Wilson was at UNC Charlotte’s William States Lee College of Engineering  to find out more about FIRST Robotics, YETI Robotics and Pioneers in Skirts.   He also meets “Professor X.”

YETI Robotics Team is a FIRST Robotics competition team made up of both girls and boys with the percentage of boys outnumbering the girls. The upcoming documentary Pioneers in Skirts focuses on women who have been leaders in the fields of engineering and robotics with the hope of being a catalyst for getting more women inspired to enter the fields.  To find out more about Pioneers in Skirts and how you can help their Kickstarter campaign, click HERE.

Wilson was with a group of the young ladies that are a part of YETI Team who talk about their participation in the Pioneers in Skirts documentary and their love of engineering and robotics.  They also introduced Wilson to “Professor X,” their mustached robot who just might take over Wilson’s job.

In April of 2016, the College of Engineering will be hosting NC FIRST Robotics District/State Championship.  This event, an engineering challenge for high school students is a competition where students create and build a actual robot.
