Goodbye, Tremont Music Hall

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — On Monday, owner John Hayes reportedly announced that Tremont Music Hall will be closing.

The music venue, located in SouthEnd, has hosted both local and national shows for over 20 years.

According to reports, Tremont is closing as a result of the growth in Charlotte. The building has been sold as development in the SouthEnd neighborhood continues to expand.

It was recently announced that the same thing is happening to 1500 block of Camden Road, home to Common Market on Tryon and Food Truck Fridays.

In March, it was also announced that redevelopment in NoDa would force the Chop Shop, another live music venue, to close.

Tremont will end its near 21-year run with a local show on December 19.
