Ace and TJ’s Grin Kids Depart on 16th Annual Walt Disney World Trip
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — On Wednesday, Ace and TJ’s Grin Kids hosted their 16th annual Walt Disney World trip send-off. The families departed from Charlotte-Douglas International Airport at 2:00 p.m. for their journey to Orlando, FL.
“Today is the day we have been anxiously waiting for,” said Ace, co-founder of Grin Kids. “Finally witnessing the children board the plane was an incredibly magical moment for our team.”
The 33 participating children along with their families were greeted by local Charlotte mascots, Disney princesses and characters and first responders before boarding their American Airlines plane to enjoy a five-day trip to Walt Disney World. Charlotte Douglas International Airport roped off terminal D for the annual Grin Kids send-off party, which included the annual group photo and interactive activities throughout the two-hour event. Before boarding the flight, each child received a personal introduction. This year’s Grin Kids are comprised of local Charlotte-area children who were nominated by friends, family or caretakers and then selected to participate on this magical trip.
“Ace and I are extremely grateful to every person who helped make our annual send-off a success,” said TJ, co-founder of Grin Kids. “Today is THE day, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our listeners and sponsors. I’m excited to share in the children’s joy these next five days.”
