Gunman Shoots Through Pageland Neighborhood, Kills Two

CHARLOTTE, NC — Investigators plan to interview three children Tuesday to find answers in the case of a Pageland man who went on a shooting rampage through his neighborhood.

Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with other agencies, eventually found the gunman after a shootout and a nearly ten-hour manhunt.

Bullet holes riddled the trailer where investigators say Rashawn Little lived with Shannon Little and three children.

“You heard shots over here, ‘pow, pow’, and down there, ‘boom, boom’, and the police arrived just like that,” said Dorthia Zerfino.

Deputies believe it was a domestic violence situation that escalated to the shooting Sunday before 7:30 in the evening.

They first found two men shot: Tyvon Threatt and Luther Chambers, Jr.

“It was total chaos with people running and ducking, hollering and screaming,” said Sheriff Jay Brooks.

“They told us to stay in the house, lock doors and turn off lights, and that’s exactly what we did,” said Dan Dunk.

At the last trailer in the park, deputies heard people screaming inside. They believe it was Shannon Little and three children.

Deputies say Rashawn Little opened the door, fired at officers. Officers shot back and say he slammed the door, reloaded and empties another clip.

“I felt sorry for the kids. Very, very sorry for the kids,” said Dunk.

Shannon died in the house. It won’t be clear whose bullet hit her until investigators map out the crime scene. State investigators are taking over since officers were involved in the shooting.

Investigators say Rashawn eventually ran off in a car. Officers found him a mile away in the woods at 6:30 Monday morning. They say they had to tase him to get him in cuffs.

No officers were injured. Threatt died in the hospital.
