Getting Ready with Words with Wilson at the Hickory Grove Library

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -The Hickory Grove Library opened up early today to welcome Wilson and a few rambunctious kids  under the age of five as they are getting ready with words as part of the Get Ready with Words program.

The Get Ready with Words initiative is based on the belief that the more words a child learns during the early years from 18 months to 5 years of age, the better prepared the child will be for both their academic and real world futures.

In addition to the Charlotte Mecklenburg Public Library, Discovery Place as well as the Community School of the Arts are all part of Get Ready with Words.

The kids enjoyed art, science, reading and story telling…all activities that are part of getting the kids ready with words.
