CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Hometown Heroes Christmas tree lots are stocked full of beautiful trees just waiting for someone to take them home and help out some very special people in the process. And Wilson felt he had to apologize to one Mom for the gift he gave to her son. But the kid is sure going to enjoy it, ants and all!
Wilson was joined by volunteers from the sheriff and police departments from Mecklenburg and Union counties early this morning at the Mallard Creek lot to find out more about Hometown Heroes, their lots and why they feel it is so important to continue with these lots each year. And he even had the opportunity to talk with some of the kids who have had the benefit of the volunteers hard work.
The Hometown Heroes Christmas tree lot is all about the kids. Helping children who suffer with terminal illnesses or debilitating injuries and their families get through the rough roads they have to follow throughout their journey is the mission for Hometown Heroes. “Big Kids Helping Little Kids” is not just a motto for these volunteers.
There are 4 Hometown Heroes Christmas Tree lots located in the area, three in Union County and one in the University area. Hours vary for locations, so be sure to check out their website HERE. All of the trees are grown in North Carolina, cut fresh and brought to the lot.
Even if you already have your tree, stop by the lot, say hi and make a donation to Hometown Heroes and help the big kids help the little kids.
