A cold front will bring rain back to the area Thursday. Light to moderate rain will move from west to east during the early morning hours and and will linger throughout the day. In addition to periods of rain, embedded thunderstorms will be possible which could produce gusty winds and locally heavy downpours. Most communities will receive half an inch to one inch of rain, locally higher amounts are possible in the foothills and mountains. The heaviest rain will move east of the area by sunset with gradually improving conditions Thursday night. High pressure will build back into the region Friday providing a return to mostly clear skies and cooler temperatures.
