Watauga County Paramedics have their warming rescue equipment packed. Their main concerns are kids at bus stops Tuesday, skiers with injuries and car wrecks on icy roads.
“So, the biggest thing for you guys in the community to do is check on your elderly neighbors,” said Nate McCoy, Watauga Medics. “Make sure they have adequate food, water, heating source, things of that nature. Otherwise, stay indoors.”
Ski resorts are cashing in on the cold, but owners posted frostbite warnings requiring skiers to wear hats and gloves.
