CHARLOTTE, NC — The Carolina Panthers will get a super sendoff before leaving for Super Bowl 50.

Center City Partners has planned a Panthers Pride Rally this Friday at noon.

Flashback 12 years ago, and 35,000 people packed Uptown to send the Panthers to their first Super Bowl.

This time, fans will do it again at Romare Bearden Park.

“I’m so excited! I’m so excited!” said fans outside the Panthers Team store Tuesday.

Center City Partners is working with police and the city to block streets.

“We’ll have Panthers players, the Top Cats, PurrCussions drumline, Sir Purr and other entertainment,” said Spokesperson Adam Rhew.

Plan parking now.

WCCB Charlotte checked pricing at private lots in Uptown. Those closest to the park, like EZ Parking, LAZ Parking and Preferred Parking Services, range anywhere from $4 to $5 now. Companies say managers could raise prices to $10 or more before the pep rally.

They expect to make that decision Wednesday.

You can park for free at any Blue Line lot and ride into Uptown.

Pre-production has already started. Crews put up the stage Tuesday. Video boards and banners will by be up Friday morning.

Center City Partners won’t reveal which players will show up to speak to the crowd. They likely won’t be able to give autographs or take pictures with fans.

“We want the team to be focused on the Denver Broncos and focused on football,” said Rhew. “So we’re grateful to the Panthers and Coach Rivera for partnering with us to make sure the players have a chance to interact with the fans before they leave.”

So are the fans.

The city hasn’t decided which streets will be closed for the event. You can find a parking map by clicking here.
