A cold front will continue to approach the area and gradually overspread showers and storms Wednesday. The heaviest rain will be just west of Charlotte Wednesday morning, but will move west to east throughout the day. Locally heavy rain is possible along with embedded thunderstorms. Although a severe weather outbreak is not expected, a few isolated strong storms are possible. The front will move east of the area Wednesday evening with quiet weather returning for the remainder of the week. High temperatures in the mid to upper 60s Wednesday afternoon will drop back to the low 50s Thursday into the upcoming weekend.

Wednesday: Showers and thunderstorms, a few storms may be strong. High 67Β°. S wind 10-20 mph, higher gusts.

Wednesday Night: Evening showers gradually diminish, a bit breezy. Low 48Β°. W wind 5-15 mph.

Thursday: Partly sunny and cooler, slight chance for a lingering shower. High 53Β°. N wind 5-10 mph.
