Panthers Lose 24-10 in Super Bowl

PantherslogoI am going to keep this short because my throat still has trouble swallowing. The Carolina Panthers lost to the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl L 24-10.

The Panthers beat themselves. They committed 4 turnovers and allowed Cam to get sacked 7 times. We all know how good Von Miller is, but where was Carolina’s stud offensive line?

Cam did not come to play as he completed under half of his passes. However, his receivers did not help him much by dropping a number of balls.

The Panthers beat themselves by committing numerous penalties, many of which stalled drives. The Panthers couldn’t muster up one more game to cement their legendary season and their accomplishment is now disappointingly tainted with a poor Super Bowl performance.

The Panthers had the best offense in the league and Denver had the best defense in the league. Traditionally, the top defense wins the big games and it did again tonight. Denver pressured Newton all game and never let him sit comfortable in the pocket.

Like many NFL games, the Super Bowl came down to big plays. The Broncos forced turnovers and had a crucial fumble recovery for a TD. The Panthers had more total yards overall, but Denver created the biggest splash plays tonight.

The Panthers had a truly historic season, finishing 17-2. It is a true heartbreaker that the season didn’t end with a Lombardi Trophy, but the Panthers are now in national spotlight. They are coming into form. With the return of Kelvin Benjamin, the Panthers could be an NFC powerhouse for a long time.
