McCrory Comments on Non-Discrimination Ordinance

Governor Pat McCrory says the North Carolina Legislature will likely wait until its short session in late April to address Charlotte’s updated Non-Discrimination Ordinance.

Some lawmakers, including The Governor, are concerned about the added protection that allows transgender people to use the bathroom of their choice.

Republican leaders want a bill that would stop other cities from adopting something similar. Charlotte’s updated ordinance takes effect April first. Mccrory says calling a special session in March would be too costly.
