Speed Street Music Line Up Announced

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Grammy award-winning sibling trio, The Band Perry, and country-music star Chris Young will headline the 22nd annual Circle K and Kangaroo Speed Street presented by Coca-Cola on Friday, May 27 and Saturday, May 28.

“We couldn’t be more excited by this year’s music lineup. The fans asked for a higher quality and more current artists, and we heard them loud and clear,” said Jay Howard, president of JHE Production and 21-year producer of the annual event. “In order for guests to best enjoy our much-improved artist lineup on Friday and Saturday nights, we have decided to gate the headliner concert area. Controlling access to the main stage allows us to manage capacity while delivering a quality guest experience.”

For only $15 per night, guests can experience the hottest country acts on the Coca-Cola stage along with Friday night special guest Montgomery Gentry and Saturday night opener Kellie Pickler. With the exception of the Friday and Saturday night music performances, all other Circle K and Kangaroo Speed Street presented by Coca-Cola’s activities remain free to the public.

The Coca-Cola stage will be located near the corner of South Tryon Street and East Stonewall Street during the May 26-28 festival. Tickets for the Friday and Saturday night performances are on sale Friday, March 11 at 10 a.m. ET for only $15 per night and can be purchased at http://600festival.com. Concert gates open each night at 6 p.m.

Appearing on the Coca-Cola stage Friday, May 27 is Montgomery Gentry, an iconic country music duo that has earned three platinum albums, a gold album and five number-one singles with anthems like “My Town” and “Where I Come From.” Shortly after, Young will take the stage to sing many of his chart toppers including “Getting You Home,” “The Man I Want To Be,” “Voices,” “Who I Am With You” and “I’m Comin’ Over,” among others. He has earned two gold albums and seven number-one singles in the last decade.

Opening entertainment for Saturday, May 28 will be Albemarle native Pickler who has released four albums in her career. Her newest album features title track “The Woman I Am,” “Bonnie and Clyde,” “Little Bit Gypsy” and “No Cure For Crazy.”

With multiple gold and platinum singles, The Band Perry will take Circle K and Kangaroo Speed Street presented by Coca-Cola by storm Saturday with its blend of country, rock and pop. The Band Perry, Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry, released their self-titled debut album in 2010 featuring two number one singles: the sextuple platinum song “If I Die Young” and platinum “All Your Life.”

The second album “Pioneer” spawned two additional number one singles “Better Dig Two” and “DONE” (the first for brothers Reid and Neil as songwriters) plus hits “Don’t Let Me Be Lonely” and “Chainsaw.” The band is currently working on its third studio album.
