Officials: Fire At East Charlotte Restaurant Intentionally Set

UPDATE: Officials say a fire at a popular east Charlotte restaurant was intentionally set.

The fire is still under investigation at this time.  Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.

Damages were estimated at $120,000.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte Fire Department crews responded to a 2-alarm fire that broke out overnight at a popular east Charlotte restaurant.

The call came in around 3:43am Thursday for a 2-alarm fire at the El Paisano restaurant on Albemarle Road. Heavy fire was showing from the building when crews arrived.

Officials say it took 50 firefighters 30 minutes to get the fire under control. No injuries were reported.

Investigators are working now to determine what sparked the fire.
