$5,000 for Person who Burned Rock Hill Dog’s Genitals

One of three animal torture cases in less than two months

ROCK HILL, SC– The Humane Society of the United States is offering a $5,000 reward to whomever turns in the person who mutilated a puppy in Rick Hill, lighting its genitals on fire.

“He had blood everywhere,” said Tommy Dozier.

Dozier came home after dinner to find his dogs had gotten out, and someone tortured the five-month-old beagle-pit bull mix.

“If they can do that to an animal, they would do that to a kid or an adult,” said Dozier.

It’s the latest of three disturbing cases in York County since the end of Feb.

Police say 17-year-old De’Monte Douglas and an unnamed 14-year-old shot a puppy 18 times with a BB gun.

PETA is offering $5,000 for information on the person who abused and abandoned a dog on Highway 324 in Rock Hill. Multiple veterinarians say

Rambo was used as a bait dog for fighting dogs and dumped in the woods to die.

“That is an indicator for law enforcement officers to watch out for more violent indicator against humans also,” said Capt. Mark Bollinger with the Rock Hill Police Department.

The FBI says police and deputies have often pointed out the overlap of animal torture with other crimes like murder, domestic violence and child abuse. That association is why the agency started tracking cases this year.

A first look at the FBI’s animal cruelty statistics will be available next year, but agents say it will take two to three years before the data shows helpful patterns.

“I just hope they find out who did this,” said Dozier.

Until someone comes forward in these cases, Dozier’s surveillance cameras are watching and so is he.

If you know who attacked the dog, call York County Crime Stoppers at 1-877-409-4321.
